Description
- Henri Cartier-Bresson
- The ZIS Truck Assembly Line, Moscow
- gelatin silver print
signed in ink and blindstamped in the margin, 1954, printed later (The People of Moscow, pl. 50)
Condition
This print is in generally excellent condition. As is typical of Cartier-Bresson's later prints, occasional deposits of original retouching are visible in raking light. Also visible in raking light are a few soft impressions in the right portion of the image that do not appear to break the emulsion.
There is a small area of concentrated black deposits of indeterminate nature in the lower left margin. There is a small, slight tear in the lower right margin edge, and the top paper ply is lifting very slightly at the right margin corner.
On the reverse, '5582' is written in an unidentified hand in pencil.
