This photograph is in generally excellent condition. The lower right tip of the print is lifting ever-so-slightly from the mount. Occasional tiny deposits of original retouching are visible, primarily in the sky area, upon very close examination. Visible in raking light are the following: a few short hairline scratches that do not appear to break the emulsion in the middle-right sky area; and an 1/8-inch scratch that does appear to break the emulsion in the lower left corner near the edge of the print. The mount is lightly sunned at the print's periphery, and there are a few fingerprints at the edges from handling. Karen Haas's and Rebecca Senf's book, 'Ansel Adams in the Lane Collection,' publishes the most comprehensive list to date of the studio stamps and labels Adams used throughout his career. Our dating of this print is based upon the authors' assessment of the use dates of stamps 7 and 8 on the reverse of the mount: 1963 to 1970.
