the first applied with Empire foliage, putto handles and putto and dophin finial, initialed J.R., unmarked except for later French control, possibly Italian, in fitted tooled leather case with ecclesiastic coat of arms; the second with swan handles and grapevine collar, probably Pierre-Jacques Meurice, Paris, c. 1820, possibly lacking cover

the first good condition, crisp; as noted re: cover of second, some wear and possible loss to grapevine behind handles
