Catalogue Note

The arms are those of Rous, with a mullet for difference and another in pretense, possibly for a younger son of the 1st Earl of Stradbroke of Henham Hall, co Suffolk. While the arms in pretense do not match exactly  those of either of the wives of the younger sons, the mullet is the sign of the third son, so William Rufus of Worstead House, Co. Norfolk, D.L., captain Coldstream Guards; he was born in 1796 and married in 1822 Louisa, youngest daughter of James Hatch of Clabery Hall.
