Description

  • height 22.5cm, 8 7/8 in.
rectangular with projecting corners, the surface enamelled in translucent mauve over banded wavy engine-turning, the corners applied with rosettes, the tied ribbon surmount suspending laurel swags, the bead-framed aperture enclosing a white glass panel graded in Centigrade scale and inscribed 'Thermomètre', toupee feet, wood back, silver-gilt scroll strut, struck with workmaster's initials and Fabergé in Cyrillic, 88 standard, partial scratched inventory number __01

Condition

The central glass panel is probably replaced and seems too large for the aperture. This panel is broken at the 50 degree mark, partially visible in the catalogue photograph. One corner to the wood back with loss, others with age cracks. Three back screws missing. The enamel is in excellent order.
