the surface cast with banded reeds, the lid applied with gold cypher MN for Grand Duke Michael Nikolaevich (1832-1909), the base with further initials, the end with vesta compartment, the back with tinder cord channel, cabochon ruby thumbpiece, gilt interior, the interior of the lid engraved in Russian 'Manoeuvres near Kursk/ in 1902', struck with workmaster's initials and K.Fabergé in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial Warrant, 88 standard, scratched inventory number 9191 or 1616

Condition

Surface nicks and scratches overall, there is some lifting at the hinged panels on the lid.
