- Gold, enamel, sapphire
- width 9.3cm, 3 5/8 in.
the surface enamelled in translucent pink over engine-turned waves and wavy sunburst patterns, the lid, base and sides painted with dendritic tendrils within green scroll and white line borders, the corners with gold fleurons, cabochon sapphire thumbpiece, the end with vesta compartment, the back with tinder cord channel, the interior lib inscribed in Russian '23rd April 1897 / to good times!', struck with workmaster's initials, 56 standard
Condition
There is one area of successful restoration to the side at the tinder cord channel opening. The surface with some surface scratching, most of which could be polished out. Good weight. A beautifully made object.
