the Mother of God depicted half-length dressed in a brown maphorion pointing with her right hand in a formal gesture to her Saviour, the Christ Child sitting on his Mother's left arm, wearing an ochre coloured himation covered with chrysography and holding a closed scroll in one hand while making a sign of blessing with the other
