narrating scenes of the prophet's life, an angel appearing to Elijah in his sleep in the lower right, to the left the prophet and his disciple Elisha crossing the river Jordan, to the right Elijah sitting on a rock within a cave looking up to a raven that is bringing him food, in the upper part the prophet depicted on a chariot ascending to heaven within a red cloud of fire accompanied by an angel
Condition
A restored vertical split running from top to bottom of the panel, some retouching and some repainting especially along the vertical crack, the border of the icon, and in the fiery cloud, a patch of overpainting visible in the lower left corner
