- 106.7 by 92cm, 42 by 36 1/4 in.
the panel divided into equal compartments, each including an image of the Mother of God with the Christ Child or illustrating an event from her life such as her Dormition in the bottom register and the Annunciation in the one above, each of the one hundred and thirty representations titled accordingly in the upper part of the respective section, the miniature portraits rendered with strong outlines on gold ground
Condition
Two vertical cracks running from top to bottom of the panel, a horizontal crack runing through the centre of the panel from left to right, some clearly visible damage to the paiting due to burning candles, some wear to the gold ground and to the painting, some minor retouching to the painting and some chips along the edges of the icon
