Condition

This early chromogenic print is in generally very good condition. The colors appear vibrant, without any apparent fading. When the print is viewed closely, it appears that its surface may have been coated by the photographer; in raking light, streaks can be seen on the surface. Also in raking light, the following are visible: a matte deposit near the upper left corner of the image; a few deposits of original retouching; a few raised areas, likely particles trapped between the print and mount during the mounting process; and crescent-shaped creases that do not break the emulsion, in the lower portion of the image and the lower margin, which likely occurred prior to or as a result of mounting. This print is mounted somewhat asymmetrically to shirt cardboard stock. On the reverse of the mount, '2779' is written in an unidentified hand in pencil. There is a long strip of brown paper-tape along the upper edge.
