Condition

Measurements 194cm wide across the top, 194cm. across the bottom, 265cm long left side, 266cm long right side. (with fringe approx. 298cm. long both sides) Dense, generally even 2-3mm pile overall. Some areas down to foundation on left side. Some minor spot marks to ground in areas. Tiny losses and repairs/repiling in areas of the lozenges of main field design, due to oxidisation, especially to the teal colour. Small repair approx. 2 by 2cm of oval form in inner border. Original flatweave, incorporating decoration detailing in knotted pile edging into kilim on the lower end and small embroidered blue motifs within the kilim along the top end, with fringes at both ends. Re-overcast blue sides, section loose in top left corner. Small repair in top end of kilim, in far right corner, and reweave in vertical section, centre of lower kilim, as visible in the photograph. Velcro attached up the left side only (from previously hanging on side). Would benefit from a clean. Specialist Comment: Rare border design and attractive overall colouring with light terracotta coloured abrash.
