Technical Analysis:

Warp: wool, Z2S
Weft: wool Z spun, 2 shoots, red brown wool, white cotton; occasionally wool Z2S red brown
Pile: wool, symmetrical knot
Density: H-7, V-6
Sides: sections of original extant
Ends: flat weave, turned under, lacking fringing
Colours: ivory, light salmon, dark coral, walnut brown, dark walnut, blue green and dark indigo

Condition

Measurements: approximately 58.5cm up the left side, 58cm. up the right side, 78.5cm. up the centre to the apex of the triangular top, 119cm. along the lower edge, 120.5cm. straight across the top. Generally even 2mm pile overall, with area that is slightly lower across the top left corner (where down to 1mm). There is a tiny area of lower pile in the lower left corner, first column, under the central section of the second level of hooks. There is extant flatweave along the lower edge (hazelnut brown in colour), and along the angled top edges (sienna colour), turned under, and remnants of original red braided wool edging along sections, as visible in the photograph. There are no silk or cotton highlights. Specialist note: Striking design and good quality example of it's type.
