  • approximately 420 by 312cm; 13ft. 9in., 10ft. 3in.

Condition

Measurements 310cm wide across the top, 312cm. across the bottom, 420cm long left side, 416cm long right side. Pile 2mm and lower in areas. Down to knot-bars in sections, for example in top right quadrant (to the right of the main medallion) and top right of lower left quadrant (towards centre of carpet). In the top left quadrant there are some repairs in lower right corner. There are areas of lower pile to the taupe colour of spandrels, due to oxidisation. There are two rectangular areas of reweaving in the borders: one 86cm. down from top left corner, approx. 45.5cm. high, 19cm. wide, and another 90cm. up from the bottom right corner, approx. 45cm. high, 23cm. wide. Re-overcast side cords. Both ends with trimmed cotton fringes, not overlocked (and need securing) Specialist Comment: Classical design, with rich colours and good size.
