- Ink on paper with lacquer binding
Persian manuscript on polished paper, 506 leaves, plus 3 flyleaves, 25 lines to the page, some sections misbound, written in black nasta'liq script in four columns, ruled in colours and gold, 8 illuminated headpieces in blue and gold interlacing arabesques, later lacquer binding
Condition
In fairly good overall condition, some loose leaves, binding worn, paper repairs and waterstaining opening and closing leaves, pages generally clean, as viewed.

The present manuscript, likely of Indian origin, includes the following books of the celebrated Persian poet Farid al-Din ‘Attar Nishapuri: Khusraw-nameh, Jawhar al-Dhat, Musibat-nameh, Mantiq al-Tayr, Asrar-nameh, Ashtar-nameh, Mukhtar-nameh, Tadhkirat al-Uliya and Kanz al-Haqa’iq. The date at the end of the Musibat-nameh reads 8 jumadi al-awwal 12[0]6 AH/3 January 1792 AD.
