the shaped diamond box carved with a taotie mask above a shou roundel, flanked on each side with a bat, all among other archaistic motifs, the stone a pale grayish-white with added russet along the fissure line (2)

The box and cover have scattered minute nick to the edges. The box has a slightly polished edge to the interior rim below the shou roundel.
