inset with three jade plaques carved in low relief, the largest of ovoid form depicting Shoulao and two attendants in a rocky landscape beneath pine trees, the mid-section of an immortal paddling in a raft, and the smallest plaque with a boy standing beneath a leafy wutong tree holding a peach, the shaft inlaid with a 'hundred' stylized shou characters in silver thread

Provenance

Acquired in New York, 1972 or earlier.

Condition

The jade plaques are later replacements and have been glued to the shaft. The largest plaque with a small crack approx. 1/4 in. (0.7 cm) long to the edge. and the other two plaques with scattered minute nicks to the surface.
