Description

couched in gold-wrapped threads with the decoration of nine five-clawed dragons amid clouds and auspicious emblems, above the terrestrial diagram and lishui border at the hem, with later added sleeve bands
Condition
The sleeves have been modified with associated sleeve bands, and there is wear to the black silk border. There are some loose gold wrapped threads and some old repairs to the couching on the dragons on the back using black thread. There is wear to the white thread used in the embroidery design, most noticeable on the dragons. A section of one dragon's tail may have been repaired. There are scatted pulls to the embroidery, most noticable in the border at the hem. The loops to the buttons are worn and the button at the neck is missing. There is an extension to the collar band under the arm. The robe has been relined.
