Linoleum cut, 1954, signed in pencil, inscribed 'exemplaire princep' (a proof before the total edition of 240), on thin beige wove paper printed in colours on the verso, printed by Arnéra, Vallauris, framed
Condition
With margins, in good condition apart from two short tears at the sheet edges, each backed with clear tape (at upper right measuring 25mm and at lower left measuring 10mm), pale paper discoloration, two holes in the 'E' of 'ET' at bottom and two further pin holes at upper right margin. Faint traces of graphite at the lettering in the lower margin are possibly due to the experimental nature of the proof.

The unusual paper used for this early proof is recognizable as the same multi-coloured paper used for the 1953 Exposition Vallauris linoleum cut (Cz. 68).
