Catalogue Note

'[The present work] is one of many which once belonged to Gauguin's Spanish friend, the artist Paco Durrio. The style of the drawing shows how the influence of his Tahitian stay affected Gauguin's vision of Brittany in 1894' (Ronald Pickvance, op.cit., p. 20).
