Provenance

Condition

The burlap canvas is laid down on board. Close inspection reveals a small tear to the centre of the right edge, possibly inherent to the artist's process, and a slight waviness to the upper left quadrant. There is no evidence of retouching under UV light. This work is in overall very good condition. Colours: fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, though overall brighter in the original.

Catalogue Note

Juan José Serra Corominas was a classmate of Salvador Dali’s in Spain when they were around 16-18 years old. This painting was given to him as a present by Dali shortly after it was painted and has remained in the family ever since.
