Provenance

Estate of the Artist
Bowers Collection, Paris (by descent from the above)
Acquired from the above by the family of the present owners in the 1950s

Condition

Executed on a sheet of cream wove paper laid down on canvas. The sheet is slightly undulating to the upper corners and lower left corner and tape is covering all four edges of the sheet. There are pinholes to the upper corners and towards the lower left corner. The sheet is slightly time-stained. There is a very minor scuff towards the centre of the lower edge. Otherwise, this work is in overall good condition. Colours: Fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, though the blues are brighter and lighter in the original and overall more colourful.
