Condition
The canvas is not lined. The surface is richly textured and the colours are fresh and bright throughout. There is a minor loss to the canvas at the extreme bottom right corner, and minor frame abrasions to the outer edges. There are some fine lines of craquelure in the lightest areas of the white pigment. UV inspection reveals a few minor nailhead sizes spots of retouching in the water in the centre right area, and a possible additional 3cm. horizontal area to the clouds towards the upper left. There is an uneven layer of varnish which is difficult for the UV light to fully penetrate. Otherwise, this work is in good condition.
