Condition
The canvas is not lined and the surface retains a rich and textured impasto. There is a thin layer of varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating, however UV examination reveals three small strokes of retouching just above the centre of the lower edge, a few strokes just below the centre of the upper edge and some scattered smaller strokes in the upper right quadrant and in and above the centre of the composition. There are a few isolated areas of thin craquelure in the thicker pigments and a few scattered scuffs along the extreme edges due to prior frame abrasion. Otherwise this work is in generally good condition.
