Condition
This early work by the artist has been restored. The canvas is lined with glue as an adhesive. Almost all of the retouching is concentrated in the sky in the upper right and in some of the orange trees to the right of the figure. It seems the painting may have originally been painted on three pieces of canvas that were joined by the artist. One join runs vertically through the left side of the standing womans face. This join has become slightly active over time and there are a few retouches above the shoulders of the figure and through her hair and in the sky. The other join runs horizontally through the base of the fountain. This join has been slightly retouched in the base of the fountain and through the dress of the standing figure in red. The work should be hung as is. (This condition report has been provided courtesy of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.)
