The oval ruby stated to weigh 10.18 carats, framed with heart-shaped diamonds, the mount pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds, size 53.

Condition

Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US; this piece may contain a ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Certification of non-Burmese origin is required before the import of rubies into the US. Please see our Important Notices and contact the jewellery department for further information. Accompanied by SSEF report no. 77370, stating that the oval ruby stated to weigh 10.18 carats, measuring approximately 13.35 x 10.55 x 7.55 mm, is of Burmese origin, with a moderate amount of orange oil in fissures. Please note that Sotheby's is not responsible for the accuracy of any estimated weights provided by gemmological certificates. Stamped with French assay mark and Or 750 for 18 carat gold. Engraved R 10.18, BC 3.53 and BR 5.45 referring to the weights of the ruby, the diamond hearts and the brilliant-cut diamonds. Translucent ruby of strong saturation, typical crystal inclusions, few nicks and scratches; for further information please refer to the SSEF report. Diamonds on average G-H colour, VS clarity, as graded in the mounting. Signs of little wear to the metal. In very good condition. Gross weight approximately 12 grams.
