Set with a step-cut diamond weighing 10.33 carats, between tapered baguette diamond shoulders, size 51, signed monture Cartier, French assay and maker's marks, carton box signed Cartier.
Provenance
Gladys Hardy (1891-1977), daughter of Daniel Montague Hardy, was the third wife of Sir William Garthwaite, 1st Baronet (1874-1956). They married on 4 February 1937. Sir William Garthwaite was a shipowner and sugar planter. He helped the Admiralty with shipping between Canada and France during World Wars I and II. He was decorated with the award of the Chevalier, Crown of Belgium, and was created 1st Baronet Garthwaite, of Durham on 19 May 1919.
Condition
Accompanied by GIA report no. 12019115, dated 20 May 2002, stating that the step-cut diamond weighing 10.33 carats and measuring 18.92 x 9.85 x 5.99mm, is D Colour, SI1 Clarity.

Signed Monture Cartier. French maker's mark for Cartier, French assay mark for platinum. For further details on the central diamond, please refer to the GIA report. Side diamonds bright and lively. Signs of normal wear to the metal. In very good condition. Carton box signed Cartier Paris - Londres - New York.
