Modelled as a bird resting on a tree branch pavé-set with black diamonds and diamonds, the body and head set with two fire opals together weighing approximately 14.00 carats, the tail embellished by variously-cut sapphires, the branches terminated by pear-shaped diamonds of brownish hues, the diamonds and sapphires together weighing approximately 11.40 and 7.05 carats respectively, mounted in 18 karat blackened gold.

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the fire opals are of baroque-shape with irregular surfaces, intense orange colour, with moderate to strong play-of-colour. Sapphires are medium to intense blue colour, eye clean. Colourless diamonds are about H to I colours, VS to SI clarity. Coloured diamonds are medium to deep brown-yellow colour, SI clarity. Black diamonds are opaque. Condition: This brooch is offered without reserve. Karat blackened gold mount, in very good condition.
