CICADA
Cicada is regarded as the sacred animal symbol of long life, good luck, happiness and eternal youth due to its intrinsic properties of being the longest living insect. The cicada motif is common in jadeite carvings and the insect is often shown on a leaf or a bamboo, symbolizing the ideal morality of Chinese literati.
