Description

  • sapphire, diamond, platinum
Each suspending a cabochon sapphire weighing 17.59 and 15.29 carats respectively, framed by circular-cut diamonds, surmounted by a brilliant-cut diamond weighing 1.15 and 1.13 carats respectively, linked by brilliant-cut and pear-shaped diamonds altogether weighing approximately 2.45 carats, mounted in platinum.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to SSEF report, the two cabochon sapphires are natural, of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. Two round diamonds in the surmount, according to GIA reports, are of matching F colour, VS1 clarity, with Excellent Cut, Polish and Symmetry. Please refer to the reports for details. In our opinion, two cabochon sapphires are matching, of deep strong blue colour, eye clean. Upon 10x loupe, there are fingerprint inclusions, more in one stone, but all these internal features are not seen to naked eyes. Smaller round and pear-shaped diamonds are about F colour, VS clarity. Condition: Platinum mounts, in very good condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
