Description
- sapphire, diamond, platinum
Set with fifteen graduated cushion-shaped sapphires together weighing 52.63 carats, alternated by baguette diamonds, bordered by pear-shaped and brilliant-cut diamonds, the diamonds together weighing approximately 31.60 carats, mounted in platinum, length approximately 185mm.
Condition
Colour and Clarity: According to SSEF reports, all 15 cushion sapphires are natural. Four are of Burmese origin, and the other eleven sapphires are from Ceylon, all with no indications of heating. The largest sapphire in the middle and the small sapphire set next to the tongue are both of "Royal Blue" colour. Please refer to the reports for details. In our opinion, the sapphires are generally of matching saturated blue colour, eye clean. Upon 10x loupe, most of the sapphires are quite clean, only a few stones have fingerprint or crystal inclusions, all internal features are not seen to naked eyes. Diamonds are about F to G colours, VVS to VS clarity.
Condition: Platinum mount, with well articulated links, in very good condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
