The ring centring on an oval sapphire weighing 16.89 carats, framed by brilliant-cut and tapered baguette diamonds; and pair of matching ear clips, each set with an oval sapphire weighing 8.37 and 7.83 carats respectively; the diamonds altogether weighing approximately 4.50 carats, mounted in platinum. (2) Ring size: 8

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to GRS reports, all sapphires are natural. The sapphires set on ring and one on the earclips are both of Ceylon origin, the other sapphire on earclips is of Burmese origin, all with no indications of thermal treatment, and of GRS-type "Royal Blue" colour. Please refer to the reports for details. In our opinion, the two sapphires on the earclips are matching, of nice strong blue colour, eye clean with good live. Upon 10x loupe, both sapphires have silk inclusions, particularly to the sapphire from Burma, not noticeable to naked eyes. Sapphire set on the ring is of similar colour but slightly darker tone, eye clean. Under loupe check, this sapphire has only minor silk inclusions and abrasions on girdle, not seen to naked eyes. Diamonds, on general, are about F to H colours, VS clarity. Condition: Platinum vintage mounts, with signs of wear and surface abrasions to metal, otherwise all in good to very good condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
