Composed of gold honeycomb motifs each set with a circular-cut ruby, the clasp accented with calibré-cut rubies and brilliant-cut diamonds, length approximately 170mm, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered, French assay and maker's marks.

Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US; this piece may contain a ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered 44467. French maker's mark for Pery et Cie, 7 boulevard Saint-Denis, 75003 Paris. French maker's mark for 18 carat gold, mounted in yellow gold. Rubies well matched in colour, with typical inclusions and abrasions. Diamonds bright and lively, estimated to weigh a total of less than 2.00 carats. Signs of normal wear to the metal. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 104 grams.

Catalogue Note

Named 'Ludo' after Louis Arpels, this design was first introduced in 1934. Originally composed of an articulated gold brick pattern, the design was updated in 1935 to a hexagonal honeycomb motif, as seen in this example.
