Condition
Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down, floating in the mount, fixed at several points along the edges. The lower left corner is missing. There is an artists pinhole in the centre of the upper edge and there are some indentations and dark stains near the centre of the left edge. The paper is slightly wavy and there are some media marks and handling smudges with some possible spots of light foxing. Otherwise this work is in good overall condition.

Catalogue Note
In autumn 1912, Man Ray enrolled in art classes at the newly-established Ferrer Center in New York. In addition to learning to draw from life, such as he present work, the Center’s progressive teachers encouraged Man Ray’s artistic development in a more radical manner.
