Condition
The board is sound, with some faint vertical surface scratches (intrinsic to the medium). The work is mounted on a hand painted wooden frame. There are some minor chips to the edges, notably along the upper edge, though these appear to be inherent to the artistic process. There is no evidence of retouching under UV light; this work is in very good original condition.

Catalogue Note
Painted shortly after the close of the second world war, Man Ray paints in stark red and black pigment what appears to be a caricature of a military man shouting at the top of his voice.
