Catalogue Note
“Phare”, the French word for lighthouse, is an anagram of “Harpe”. The title may also be a reference to “La Phare de la mariée” (Lighthouse of the Bride), as Man Ray’s friend Marcel Duchamp’s seminal work The Bride Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors, Evenwas called by André Breton.
