Catalogue Note
"The stillness of many of the paintings reflect also the calm that had perhaps descended upon Soo Pieng and his practice, having rediscovered his heritage upon his return to China, consolidating much of what he remembered, still more what he had learnt, and even greater than ever, the visual possibilities that had yet to be realised by his decades of being in Nanyang."
