The picture is unlined. Small brushstroke size retouches uniformly applied within the background. A one inch circular loss in the ladies mid section is also visible under UV, as well as retouches along the top half of the long pipe. Some small retouches along the edges are likely due to frame abrasion. The stretcher is slightly pushing against the canvas. Though retouches are visible under UV, they are not overly disturbing, especially in the background. The varnish is fresh. In a carved gilt wood frame.

This picture follows the composition by Liotard which the artist painted in Constantinople circa 1738-1740. It is located today in the Musée du Louvre (inv. R.F. 1995-14).
