Condition

Pile generally good, near original closely shorn 1/8in. Dark browns oxidized to knot heads, creating a lovely relief effect. A very well executed 1.5 by 2in. reweave in field and a minor 1.5in. area of repiled browns in border. Lower left edge with 2in. by 5in. reweave; now slightly faded. Sides reselvaged and missing outer guard stripes. Lower end missing outer guard stripe, both ends secured with a binding stitch. Cloth band sewn on reverse at both ends and hanging sleeve sewn to upper end. Highly lustrous wool, supple handle, very good variety of color, including a vivid aubergine and a light green.
