Pile low to knotheads overall with a few a few areas of near original closely shorn 1/10in pile, mostly in lower quadrant of rug. A few small areas of repiling through center of rug, possibly due to old moth damage. Several repaired foldwear slits to lower end guard border. Scattered surface dirt and spot stains. Sides later overcast with dark blue wool. Small, approx. 3/4in. by 1/2in. reweave in right corner with glue residue on reverse to both corners. Upper end with remnants of ivory flatwoven end finish and with losses to dark brown guard stripes. Lower end missing brown guard stripe and with losses to red guard stripe, now secured with binding stitch. Good color, supple handle, sound fabric and condition.
