Catalogue Note
In the present lot, Tripolskaia revives the 18th century artistic tradition of children mimicking adult roles, aligning the concept with official Soviet culture, an idea which would remain popular among designers in the following decades. This little girl's dream of grown-up life includes the new Soviet role of the Delegatka, a woman either elected to serve on a governing body or work with an organization ensuring that women's issues were being considered.
