Catalogue Note
A central figure at the Kirov Ballet in the 1930s and 1940s, Natalia Dudinskaya (1912-2003) retired from dancing in 1951 to teach ballet. After her star pupil, Rudolf Nureyev, defected to the West, she was pulled from the limelight by the government.
