Catalogue Note

This model was produced by Danko in response to a commission from the Moscow Clock Factory Number Two for a porcelain clock case for mass production.  It is notable that the female Uzbek figure has been modelled sporting a wristwatch (as also in lot 549), along with the fruits of a bountiful harvest, suggesting rising levels of prosperity, literacy and numeracy among residents of an impoverished region.
