Description
- silver and silver gilt
- height of the kettle 41cm, 16in.
comprising: kettle on stand with burner, coffee pot, a pair of tea pots, creamer, lidded tazza, sugar bowl, cake bowl, a pair of plates and two tongs. One set of tongs earlier with worn initials beneath a baronial coronet, Ignatius Sazikov, 1868, 84 standard. Each of the remaining items in Rococo taste with engraved floral motifs, standing on scrolling leaf feet and set or engraved with the coat of arms of the Counts Berg, gilt interiors, ivory insulators, 84 standard
Condition
The surface with traces of previous lacquering which has discoloured in places. The cake bowl with one foot indented, visible on the interior. The gliding to the creamer, sugar bowl and covered tazza slightly worn, not through to the silver. The coffee pot and one tea pot with very minor indentations. The handle of the hot water pot very slightly loose, the underside of the base with surface scratches, likely from metal testing. The covered tazza lacking a spoon. Good weight and finely made.
