The canvas has been relined. There are a couple of small surface abrasions in the sky near the left edge, just visible in the catalogue illustration. Ultra-violet light reveals strokes of retouching along the top circa 1.5cm of the composition, and scattered strokes notably in the right half of the sky and prow of the foreground ship. The overall appearance of the work is otherwise good and ready to hang. Presented framed.
