Provenance

Estate of Lady Illingworth (sale: Christie's, London, 5 October 1990, lot 68)

Condition

The canvas has not been lined. Under ultra-violet light scattered areas fluoresce green, apparently corresponding to traces of old residual varnish; only minor signs of retouching are clearly visible, primarily along the lower framing edge. This work is in good overall condition. The colours in reality are less of a pale yellow overall than in the catalogue illustration. Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
