Condition
In reasonably good overall condition, occasional minor paint losses, particularly to upper painting centre edge, abrasions to borders, as viewed.

Catalogue Note
The present miniature, depicting a prisoner brought before a king, comes from the 1616 Razmnama, a Persian translation of the Mahabharata, commissioned by Emperor Akbar in 1582. The patron of the present manuscript was Abd al-Rahim Khan-i Khanan, minister and one of Akbar's foremost military commanders. See catalogue note to following lot.
