Description
- tinned-copper
of deep rounded form with slightly everted rim, the engraved decoration comprising a knotted band of alternating inscriptive cartouches and lobed roundels containing entwined split-palmettes on a ground of foliate scrolls, above a band of lobed arches filled with palmette motifs
Condition
In generally good condition, the surface with some abrasion and rubbed, particularly to underside which also has many scratches and one or two very minor holes, the interior with oxidisation and scratches, minor dents along lower section, as viewed.

Stamped twice under the base, most probably the maker: ‘Muhammad Baqir’
An owner’s name: ‘His (God’s) servant, Shaykh ‘Ali’
It is interesting to note that the maker's name was engraved within the design of a fish.
