Condition

This table is of very good quality. The mahogany has a rich color and the leaves are of some weight. In the closed position it makes an effective console or pier table. The top has been re-polished and there are scratches and scuffs to this surface. One of the leaves with an old age crack. The concertina action is impressive and whilst a little sticky, works well. There is some lifting to veneers on the frieze. The central leg has been later added to provide additional support. It is loose and wobbly. This will require some workshop attention as the piece it issues from (which is plywood) is weak and crumbling. This leg, which works well with the others, must have been put in this position at some point in the 20th century presumably when the table underwent some workshop attention. The brass capping's and castors are tarnished. This table is not only a fine piece but versatile.
