Condition
Overall good restored condition; with a slightly glossy surface; glass panels appear to be contemporary to the piece; top of projecting lower section with a thin inpainted age crack to the right side; the plinth with some inpainted age cracks; overall with minor nicks and wear to extremities; sturdy.
Interestingly this bookcase is stamped STRAHAN in two places to the base probably for Robert Strahan and Co of Dublin. Strahan and Co were hugely successful 19th century cabinet makers working Dublin, established in 1774 the company continued until 1969.
